THERE will be glad rags galore when the team and residents at a care home in Stourport-on-Severn welcome people to their vintage-inspired Time for a Cuppa tea party.

On Saturday, March 7, between 2pm and 5pm, people from the local community are invited along to Ravenhurst Residential Care Home, in Lickhill Road North, for a fundraising tea party for Dementia UK.

Staff will be dressed from top to toe in their vintage finery, with fabulous frocks, as well as plenty of bunting. There will be cakes, served on fine china and refreshments available in return for a donation to the charity.

There will also be a fitness and music session with an instructor from fit4lifeover50 programme between 3pm and 4.30pm.

Carla Siwicki, the home’s activities leader, said: “The team and our residents love an excuse to get their glad rags on to support a good cause, so we thought a vintage Time for a Cuppa event would be a perfect way to raise money for Dementia UK.

“Please come along and support our fundraising efforts.”

Time for a Cuppa is Dementia UK’s annual fundraising; a national day which brings people together over a cuppa to raise money for the specialist nurses who provide care, advice and support to the loved ones of people living with dementia.

Amy Cudmore, community fundraiser at Dementia UK, said: “There are currently 140 nurses in the UK to support families living with the effects of dementia, which simply isn’t enough.

“Dementia UK is striving to increase the number of nurses by 50 per cent, by the end of 2016, to support the growing number of families affected by dementia.”
