MORETON residents interested in their community and in helping to shape its future are urged to consider becoming a town councillor.

Due to recent boundary changes, Moreton Town Council will be split into two wards – Moreton East and Moreton West. This change, and the fact that the town's population has grown substantially in the last few years and will continue to grow with more new housing developments in the pipeline, has resulted in an increase in the number of councillor seats available from nine to 11.

Councillor nominations need to be received by Cotswold District Council by 4pm on Thursday April 9. Nomination packs and further information about being a candidate are available from the district council's election team by calling 01285 623000 or from the council’s website: www.cotswold.gov.uk.

Anyone wanting further information about what being a town councillor involved can contact the town clerk on 01608 651448.
