PHIL Grove who represents Tenbury on Malvern Hills District Council has completed a remarkable political come back.

He has been elected as leader of Malvern Hills District Council.

It is the second time that Mr Grove has held the position.

“It is a great privilege to be elected, this is my second term as a leader and I am delighted to be leading a new council where we can all work together to shape our future over the next four years,” he said.

“I will be focused on improving the quality of life and prosperity for the district, protecting services, delivering them well, and providing value for money.”

Phil Grove has been a member of Malvern Hills District Council for 12 years.

He is also a member of Worcestershire County Council where he sits for Hallow.

Mr Grove found himself at the centre of a controversy last year when he had the Conservative whip on Worcestershire County Council removed after fighting ultimately unsuccessfully for the retention of a second fire engine at Tenbury Fire Station.
