MUSIC fans are being invited to learn the drums from a music master in Cradley Heath.

Cradley Heath library is hosting two free taster workshops this summer of Djembe drumming on Tuesday, August 18th and 25, between 5-7pm, led by jazz singer and songwriter, Bobby KP Woods.

Anyone who comes along will have the opportunity to try their hand at playing African drums in a relaxed atmosphere with fantastic acoustics.

Bobby Woods said: "Sure, you can learn to drum on any instrument but there are ways of handling and treating African drums to get the most out of them.

"I learned by playing and performing with musicians who are from the African tradition of Djembe".

He added: "And I want to bring that experience to the Black Country and share the excitement of it with my neighbours.’

The taster workshops are being supported by Cradley Heath library as part of Sandwell Libraries promotion of community arts and in conjunction with Sandwell Arts Festival.

All ages and levels of experience are welcome. To book a free place, please contact Cradley Heath library on 01384 569316,
