PICASSO-lovers around the Cotswolds can sate their desire of the influential artist when an exhibition boasting nearly 40 pieces of his work is staged in Winchcombe.

Pieces will on exhibit and for sale at Barnbury, in North Street, from Saturday September 19 to October 31 and will include a suite of 20 hand-coloured Pochoir prints representing key periods in the master's life. Visitors can expect unique and vibrant prints that the artist would have had to create through a long, labour intensive and time consuming process.

Known as one of the most influential artists of the 20th century, Picasso was renowned for experimentation and innovation, taking a decisive break from classical methods and exploring surrealism and cubism.

Known as his ‘Blue Period’, much of Picasso’s early work was largely dominated by the colour blue, linked to his depression. However, visitors to this exhibition can also expect to see work from what is known as his ‘Rose Period, boasting warmer colours and bold methods following his improved spirits.
