A KIDDERMINSTER man with previous convictions for having child porn has admitted further offences of making thousands of indecent images of young people.

Paul Brannan, 49, of Mill Street, admitted three charges, involving a total of more than 3,000 images, at Worcester Crown Court.

Daniel White, defending, said Brannan had previously breached the terms of notifying the authorities of his changes of address – imposed after earlier convictions for having indecent material – because he was homeless while living on the south coast.

Mr White added that his client had borderline personality disorder and depression, and had now gone for help with the Lucy Faithfull Foundation – which treats people who have committed sexual offences.

Judge Andrew Lockhart QC said he had “real concern” about allowing Brannan bail because he had previously breached his sexual offender notification requirements.

But, after hearing how Brannan was seeking help for his addiction, he agreed he could have bail on conditions that he should not have any device capable of accessing the internet.

Sentencing was adjourned until October 20, for reports.
