DOT Wainwright had a weekend that would be tough for someone half her age.

There were 100 people at a celebratory party at Ludlow Golf Club to help Dot Wainwright to mark her 100th birthday.

But this was not all because the following day there was a party for 30 family and close friends at St Peter’s Hall in Ludlow.

Dot who was born in Onibury but now lives in Ludlow was walking and regularly playing bowls until just five years ago.

She was married in Onibury in 1941, during the Second World War and was with her husband for 63 years until he died in 2004.

Dot has a son and a daughter and six grandchildren. She worked at the E Walters trouser factory in Ludlow.
