A GP surgery in Brierley Hill has shown improvement, just months after it was put into special measures, according to inspectors.

In March, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) gave The Waterfront Surgery six months to take action and although it still 'requires improvement' overall, when it comes to being a safe service that is well led and responsive to people's needs, it has been rated as 'good'.

The latest report, following an inspection in September, said to improve further, the Venture Way surgery must "continue to review the registers for patients with long term conditions and mental health needs to ensure appropriate reviews are in place."

Caroline Brunt, chief nurse at Dudley Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), said: “The staff of the Waterfront Surgery have committed themselves to addressing the issues highlighted in the CQC report and clinical advisors within the CCG have worked closely with them to support their progress.

"We are pleased that this work has been acknowledged with an improved rating and we are confident that the Waterfront staff will continue to focus on improving services to ensure the provision of high quality care to their patients.”
