HEARTLESS vandals may have destroyed the last holly tree standing in Brinton Park.
The unknown offenders drove a vehicle through a hedge in Talbot Street between Saturday, December 3, and Sunday, December 4, causing around £500 worth of damage.
Wyre Forest District Council officers suspect the thieves may have targeted the tree to make Christmas wreaths.
Over the last few years, 10 holly trees have been destroyed in Brinton Park and tree specialists are now battling to save the latest vandalised tree.
Councillor Rebecca Vale, cabinet member for operational services, said: "It is such a shame that we have lost so many holly trees over the last few years.
"If anyone has any information about this latest act of vandalism I would urge them to contact the local police."
