A VEGAN fair featuring a variety of different foods will take place in Evesham.

As curiosity in vegan lifestyles continues to grow, Midlands Vegan Campaigns (MVC) are stepping up their vegan awareness campaign in celebration of their tenth anniversary this year.

The fair is the third to take place at Evesham's Town Hall.

Kevin White, founder of MVC and the organiser of the events said: "Veganism is really taking off in the UK, with new stats showing that over half a million people now follow a vegan lifestyle.

"For many, vegan events are the best starting point if you are vegan curious, an aspiring vegan or already enjoying the benefits of the lifestyle.

"There are now dozens of vegan fairs and festivals springing up across the country, so anyone interested will find them more accessible than ever before."

At the fair, there will be 25 stalls showcasing an array of vegan foods and products including hot meals.

Many stalls will offer free samples with non-food stalls including cosmetics, toiletries, clothes and recipe books.

MVC have organised Vegan Fairs across the West Midlands, in Coventry, Lichfield, Redditch, Birmingham and the annual West Midlands Vegan Festival in Wolverhampton.

Mr White added: “The growth of veganism in recent years has been phenomenal.

"People are no longer scared off by the ‘V’ word.

"Fast growing numbers of celebrities, such as tennis champion Venus Williams, snooker player Peter Ebdon, film director James Cameron, boxer David Haye and actress Alicia Silverstone are all following a vegan lifestyle.”

“Curious non-vegans are increasingly flocking to vegan events to taste all the delights of vegan cuisine and be inspired by all the lifestyles benefits, for animals, personal health and nutrition, and the environment."

Entry to the Evesham Vegan Fair on Saturday March 4 is free and all are welcome. It will be open from 10.30am-4.30pm.
