A SCIENTIST from Bromsgrove took part in a sponsored 'wing walk' to show her support for animal-free medical research.
Anne-Marie Hewitt, from Finstall, celebrated her 40th birthday with the fearless fundraiser, which involved her being harnessed to the wing of a plane as it flew hundreds of feet from the fields below.
Animal-lover Anne-Marie said: "The wing walk was an amazing experience - albeit a little windy up there. Basically every landmark birthday I do something crazy for charity.
"I'm both a biologist and a vegan, so for my 30th birthday I did a sponsored hand glide for the RSPCA and for my 35th I did a skydive for the Blue Cross.
"This time I'm raising money for Animal Free Research UK which funds medical research into diseases without the use of animals, so it's a really great charity.
"It's all about combining my passions for animals and science."
Anne-Marie, who works as a clinical scientist at Birmingham Women's Hospital, is now £200 away from reaching her goal to raise £500 for the charity.
