PERSHORE Riverside Youth Centre has been presented with a cheque for £1250 from Pershore Carnival committee.

The money was raised during the 2017 The World of Music Carnival street collection.

Colin Shepherd, Pershore Carnival chairman said: “We were delighted to be able handed over such a fantastic amount of money to the Pershore Riverside Youth Centre. It’s amazing how those pennies add up.

"We really hope it will help the centre to carry on the valuable work they do with the young people”

Debra Kurs centre manager and Tara Gwynn-Newitt youth mentor were on hand to receive the cheque from the Mayor of Pershore Cllr Bob Gillmor.

Cllr. Liz Tucker, chairman of trustees of the centre said: “We were over the moon to be made Carnival Charity for 2017 and are extremely grateful for everyone’s generosity during the Carnival Procession.

"Riverside Youth Centre makes a real difference to young people’s lives and this cheque will make it possible to maintain what we do and reach out to more.”
