QUINBORNE Community Centre is hosting a special event to celebrate 80 years of being a hub of Quinton.
Hundreds of people are expected to attend the 80th birthday party on Saturday, July 8, where a variety of events will be keeping the whole family entertained.
From 10am until 3pm, the Ridgacre Road centre will host numerous activities including an animal man, bouncy castle, hook-a-duck, face painting, fun bus, barbecue and event learning groups.
Karl Howell, centre manager, said: “We are inviting all our groups, local council services and the library to attend and to have a stall to promote themselves and show how their group or service benefits the community.
“We are also inviting outside groups, schools and colleges to show what they offer and how they benefit the local area.”
There will also be a table top and craft sale taking place on the day, while local councillor Yvonne Mosquito will be at the event from 11am until noon.
Quinborne is one of the largest community centres running in Birmingham, with more than 50 unique groups making the centre their home, as well as thriving adult education department and a full-time nursery.
