PUPILS at a primary school have been creating ‘picture postcards’ to send to elderly people in Malvern.
Students at Northleigh Church of England Primary School, St Peter's Road, Malvern, hope the postcards will help to tackle isolation and loneliness.
Triangle Community Services Homecare carers will deliver the postcards to local homes.
Catherine Shuck, a teacher at the school, said: “The children were so pleased to have been asked and it struck a common chord, with many of them thinking of their own families.”
Donna Brown, manager of Triangle Community Services Homecare Malvern, added: “It’s common to see feelings of loneliness and isolation amongst some of our clients. Receiving these wonderful postcards will let them know they are being thought about.”
Triangle Community Services Homecare is part of the charity Friends of the Elderly, which supports independent living.
