Sir – The article in the Worcester News (Analysis shows city would now stay in EU, August 14) showing that an independent analysis shows a six per cent swing towards remaining in the EU.
With most people in the Faithful City now wishing to remain should prompt considered thought from our local MP.
Instead, however, his position as under Secretary for leaving the European Union seems to have clouded his judgement.
We all have the capacity within us to change our minds on a variety of things in our lives... from buying a home, a car, which schools our children go to, where to go on holiday.
But it seems those in government, and in charge of Brexit, don’t or won’t extend that courtesy to us on the biggest decision this country has taken in many an age.
As it seems from other media outlets that this change applies nationwide, not least in both Boris Johnson’s and Michael Gove’s constituencies.
It is time not for a second referendum on the principle of Brexit, but on the final deal, if for no other reason than that it will bear no resemblance to what all of us were promised.
A people’s vote on the deal is an EXTENSION of democracy.
And our local MP should put aside his ministerial role and represent the changing mood here.
