CHIPPING Campden school has successfully applied for a grant to study the use of lenses in astronomy.
The school's science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) department has received £900 which was handed to principal John Sanderson.
The grant was given by The Worship Company of Glass Sellers.
The organisation is one of the 110 historical City of London ‘Livery Companies’, which represent various trades and professions.
The funding will enable local primary school students to learn how to make and test mini telescopes and to be involved in family stargazing night events.
The project will also involve sixth form science students who, by mentoring their younger peers, will improve their science communication skills.
