A WRISTBAND scheme will help stop children being lost at the Moreton Show.

The scheme run by the Moreton in Marsh-based Dormer House School allows parents to add their phone numbers to the bands and if a child becomes separated at the show, the Stewards can quickly and easily contact the parents to reunite them.

Moreton Show is one of the biggest one-day agricultural shows in the country, with some 25,000 visitors coming onto the showground on the Batsford Estate.

The show on Saturday, September 2 will be the third year in succession that Dormer House School will man stands at both entrances, handing out wristbands to parents of children.

‘It’s great to know that the children are safe at the show,’ said Justine Berry, parent trustee at the school. ‘It’s a busy job each year but a great way of getting involved with the show, which is such an important event each year in our community.’

Moreton Show features fabulous British food, the JCB Dancing Diggers, Tractor Ted, dancing sheep and 350 trade stands.

More than 2,000 animals will be there, including the contenders for the Selekt Three Shires Trophy, the Triple Crown of cattle showing.

Some of the country’s top horses are also featured, aiming to qualify for the end of season Horse of the Year Show. Buy tickets at www.moretonshow.co.uk.
