A BUSY November has been announced for Ledbury’s Market Theatre.

On offer will be exciting live screenings, dance, music and films.

A spokesman said: “Three fierce, witty female characters take us through stories of community, heritage, friendship and Hair! Told through Contemporary and African dance ‘Head Wrap Diaries’ is a journey from childhood to present day

“And Jamie Smith’s Mabon makes a welcome return. This five- piece band of dazzling musicians perform original as well as Celtic heritage music.”

The spokesman added: “Enjoy a live screening of Stephen Sondheim’s musical ‘Follies’. Its New York 1971 and the Follies girls gather for a last party on the stage of the soon to be demolished Weismann Theatre

“Flanders and Swan revisited” complemented here by the words and wit of Sir John Betjeman will offer nostalgia for a by-gone age”

There will also be a roller coaster look at the life of Paul Robeson.

This will highlight “his pioneering political activism leading him to be described as the forerunner of the civil rights movement”.

Films will include ‘Their Finest’ set in London 1940. The Government turns to propaganda films to boost the morale of a nation bowed down by war..

‘Alone in Berlin’ is a true- life tale of courage set against the tumultuous backdrop of Berlin 1940- starring Emma Thompson.
