IT proved to be lucky 13 for organisers of the Kington Festive Food and Drink Festival.

The annual event expanded this year and welcomed 90 stalls to the town’s streets.

The weather gods also played their part in making a great weekend for visitors who were treated to an array of food from Herefordshire, Powys, Shropshire and Worcestershire.

There were also plenty of events for children and Santa visited Kington Library to hand out presents sponsored by Kington Lions.

Street music also kept everyone entertained as they shopped, and came courtesy of western swing band The Poobahs and four local choirs. Meanwhile, there was also a beer trail in many of the town’s pubs.

Kington Chamber of Trade organised the free event and were keen to stress the importance of free parking available to many of those visiting from areas of the county where such a service is not available. Planning for next year’s festival, the 14th outing for the event, will soon get underway.
