HEREFORDSHIRE Young Farmers came out on top at this year's Three Counties Show.

There were more than 50 competitions staged across the weekend with teams competing in events ranging from cake decorating to tug of war.

And, after the points were counted, Herefordshire came out on top, beating Worcestershire and Gloucestershire by more than 400 points.

Herefordshire's young farmers will again be testing their skills across the weekend of June 30 and July 1 when they compete in the National Young Farmers Competitions Finals.

Events include fencing, hockey, junior reading and clay pigeon shooting.

And junior members from Eardisley and Dilwyn clubs will be among those competing at the Tenbury Show on August 4 when they enter the National Young Farmers Tug of War Finals.
