KEITH Gluyas spotted this very young Greater Spotted Woodpecker in his orchard at the end of May.
"Apart from being quite noisy, it seemed unperturbed by my efforts to take photos of it and it was almost posing," said Keith.
"The red head is usually associated with the much smaller, sparrow-sized, Lesser Spotted Woodpecker, but the young Greater Spotted has it for a while and eventually ends up with a black head and a red nape."
