OUTGOING Ludlow Mayor Paul Draper has been presented with a badge in recognition of his service to the town.

The badges were given to Paul Draper, who was Mayor of Ludlow for three successive years, and to his wife Lesley.

Paul Draper, who stood down from the town council in May, spoke of the highlights of his three years in office.

He said that these included the opening of the new museum at The Buttercross and the sensory garden in the town centre.

“It was a huge privilege to meet Prince Harry and wounded soldiers who came to Ludlow,” said Paul Draper.

Mr Draper said that his last duty as Mayor was to have been a ride on the dodgem cars when the May Fair came to Ludlow but, after that, he had received an invitation to meet a man in Ludlow celebrating his 100th birthday.

“It was the third 100th birthday I have been to in Ludlow in three years so there must be something in the water,” he said.
