FOUR year six girls aged 10 and 11 from Ludlow Junior School held a charity bake/plant sale in aid of Hillside Animal Sanctuary.

Lola, Daisy, Hazel and Bea baked biscuits and cakes and received donations from friends and family.

It was all to help animals in distress and in need of a home and care.

Animal sanctuaries face high costs such as vets bills and the cost of feeding.

Difficult economic times with less money can result it people abandoning or giving up pets along with housing problems and the breakdown of relationships.

The event was held outside one child’s home with leaflets being put through all the neighbour’s doors to encourage them to show support.

The girls raised £175.00.
