THOUSANDS of visitors flocked to the first ever Bromsgrove Food Festival over the weekend, with organisers now discussing plans to bring it back for a second year.

The event on Sunday, June 25, included more than 30 stalls for food and drink, and entertainment including live music, face painting for children, and a stilt walker.

Owen Prosser-Stock, of organisers CJ’s Events Warwickshire, said: “Despite a drizzly start to the morning it was a really successful event and we welcomed thousands of visitors to the High Street.

“We’ve received lots of comments saying this is the busiest the town has ever been.

“It was lovely to see so many families enjoying the food, drink and music on offer

“We will be having a de-brief to discuss the day as a whole and if confirmed to take place for a second year, we’ll schedule a date for 2018.

“We have some improvements we’d like to make such as additional seating and as soon as we have information on next year’s event this will be released on our website and social media channels.”

Bromsgrove District Council Chairman Cllr Helen Jones said: “It was brilliant to see our High Street bustling on a Sunday.

“I personally spoke to residents who had nothing but praise for the event and the reports from traders and our local businesses have also been positive.

"We can really build on this success and I hope this becomes a regular event for the district.”
