AVONCROFT Museum is inviting budding scientists and engineers to a week of themed workshops and activities this half-term.

From Monday, February 19 to to Friday, February 23, young visitors can invent, build and experiment during indoor science and engineering activities, organised by Cheltenham Science Group.

Activities include a K-nex building challenge, vertical wind tunnel, maths and logic puzzles, and experiments.

Outdoors, guests can explore Avoncroft's historic houses, ride on the miniature train from 11am to 3pm Tuesday to Thursday, and take part in a free science discovery trail around the grounds with Cheltenham Science Festival.

Avoncroft will also be hosting a surprise star attraction, supplied by Keele University.

Engineering Science! activities are aimed at families with children aged five and over.

Activities in the Guesten Hall last 90 minutes, starting at 11am and 1.30pm.

Pre-booking is essential and children must be supervised at all times.

Winter admission prices apply and Engineering Science! workshops cost an additional £3.50 per child.
