A FINANCE director from a housing association will join volunteers in a bid to raise money for Worcester’s homeless community.

Andy Howarth, of Fortis Living, will join more than 60 volunteers at Sixways rugby ground on the night of Tuesday April 26, to raise money for St Paul's Hostel.

The sleepout has been organised by charity CEO Sleepout, which is also holding events across the UK to fight homelessness and poverty. Since its launch in December 2013 more than 1,400 executives have slept out and raised £1.4million.

Andy said: “Whilst one night sleeping out may be a challenge for me, it’s nothing like the hardship suffered by homeless rough sleepers every day in every city across the UK. I’m aiming to raise more than £1,000."
