KHURSHID Ahmed recently announced that he will be appealing against Dudley Council's decision to throw out his mosque proposals.

David Caunt stated that their appeal will be bad for community cohesion and race relations.

Maybe Mr Caunt should have thought of this before selling the land on Hall Street to the Dudley Muslim Association knowing that it could only be used for industrial purposes.

Mr Caunt also claims that their appeal will cost the council tax payer £100 in legal fees.

I personally do not have a problem with this money being spent defending the council's decision.

I do have a problem with David Caunt taking the moral high ground regarding council tax.

Let us not forget that it was Dudley Council, led by David Caunt, that sold this land for a fraction of its market value. If this land was sold for its full market value there would be enough funds in the council's kitty to pay fees ten times over.

If these proposals do go to appeal they will probably end up on the desk of new Labour's Hazel Wears and when taking into consideration Labour's obsession with multi-culturalism and immigration this can only spell bad news for objectors like myself.
