THE public inquiry into the mosque proposal will hopefully finally make some of the more gullible in Dudley realise that democracy in this country is dead and buried.
Whatever the decision the inspector makes, it will finish up in the lap of a New Labour Government minister.
If the inspector recommends the proposal be approved, this will be accepted without argument.
If, however, the inspector supports the council and recommends the proposal be rejected, the minister will overrule the decision and thereby ignore the overwhelming wishes of thousands of Dudley citizens.
After all, New Labour will not want to upset Khurshid Ahmed, one of its most loyal supporters and activists, will it?
RA Sargeant, Dudley
