Network is helping those who are in need of help...

THE proposed cuts to the funding of the St Thomas’s network are short-sighted and unacceptable.

This admirable institution is helping real people with real difficulties.

The amount of good they do in the area is incalculable and if the council manages to destroy this support system, we will all pay the costs due to removing help from troubled people.

The excellent and vital work St Thomas’s Network does in turning people away from anti-social behaviour and crime is a longterm measure.

Dudley Council’s approach prioritises short-terms savings over long-term and real results.

A stitch in time saves nine – a message the council should well remember.

Will Duckworth, Green Party council candidate for Netherton, Woodside and St Andrew's.
