I READ in today's Daily Mail (01/08/02) that two young teenagers had chalked up a few hopscotch grids on a quiet back street in Halesowen to teach and entertain the local children during the summer holidays.
What happened next was an insult to their integrity, humanity and ingenuity!
The police and the council told them that it was a crime and made them wash away the offending chalked hopscotch grids!
The children of today have been told that they must get out to play more often instead of staying indoors with their computers and electronic games, and these children had been told by the police that they should not play such games as hopscotch?
I wish the police showed such vigour in catching thieves and muggers, and that the local councils would leave well alone the children to be children! Shame on them for their inhumanity.
