AS Spring sprung into action, did anyone catch a glimpse of the Dudley Council crop circle type phenomena that shot across the borough?
Grass verges along the footpaths turned to straw encapsulating a green inner section. Never mind the rotting material that increases year on year and never gets removed, if you shut one eye and squint it's not too bad.
With a blistering summer and the hottest July day on record, not a blade of grass to be seen, Dudley Council went one better.
Out came the grass cutters and circling at speed, they managed to raise enough dust to be seen from space.
The fact that they still managed to go round any wooden or brick debris rather than picking it up only adds to the madness.
Following the departure of our controversial mayor, Mr Kettle, perhaps others at or near the top should follow in his footsteps.
