Remembering our local hero
I ADMIT I have been a critic of Dudley Council but I must give them praise for the way they organised the service of thanksgiving to celebrate the life of our greatest ever sportsman, Duncan Edwards.
Well done Dudley Council and the people who attended the lovely service addressed by the Rev Geoff Johnston and Mayor David Stanley.
First class, a wonderful tribute.
Wouldn't it be lovely if we in Dudley could replace our old sports ground which, in the 1950s and 1960s was second to none.
I feel sure we could get funding and name it after Duncan.
Think what a future it could bring to our young people.
It's a thought but what are the chances? I say somewhere between slim and none.
I wish someone would come along and give me two hopes for every doubt.
