Booze ban is ignored
MAY I say, first of all, that I do love to read the Dudley News and at this stage I wish to comment on the article "Town booze ban" (February 7).
On reading the second paragraph, it stated that similar alcohol bans are in force in Dudley.
This I really had to laugh at. My reason being that although there are signs up, they mean nothing.
No one does anything about it.
Nobody has informed the police about illegal drinking more than me.
Every day - and I mean every day - at 9am they are there on the bench seats opposite Dudley Top Church next to Venue, men and women, sitting underneath the alcohol ban signs drinking great bottles of cider.
And when the weather is warmer and they can't drink any more, they find the nearest patch of grass and lie down and go to sleep.
Why doesn't the Government or council give them a hard broom each and make them sweep the gutters where they belong?
They must have to get up at six or seven o'clock each morning.
