What am I paying council tax for?

WOULD some apologist for this useless council please tell me what I am paying nearly £1,000 a year council tax for?

I live in my own property adjoining an empty council property and a few weeks ago, the fence between us was blown down in a violent storm.

I put the fence back up in order to secure my own property but did not repair it completely as it's not my fence.

It is, as far as I'm concerned, the council's fence and, as the property is empty, no one else but the council can be responsible for repairing it.

I have personally reported the damaged fence twice and Councillor Shaukat Ali has also reported it on my behalf. All to no avail.

I repeat. What am I paying nearly £1,000 a year council tax for?

Judging by whats happened i would suggest that to get any repairs done at all you would have to be a council tenant. Nothing against Council tenants, but those of us who choose to buy our homes have to do our own fencing/decorating etc. At the bottom of my garden my neighbour Council tenant, and is growing the most abhorrent bush which keeps growing over my fence and weakening it, is anybody interesed? No! so despite the fact I have a disability I have to try to hack it down the best way i can.
