Favourite holiday games for Midlanders

To celebrate the sporting summer, the National Trust has surveyed residents across the Midlands to find out whether our favourite holiday games and pastimes have changed over the years.

Ball games and skipping remain the favourites.Ball games were in the number one spot for 1950s generations onwards (35%), followed by hide and seek (15%) and I Spy (10%).

Skipping roped up the ranks with 13% of 1960s kids compared to just 6% for the under-25s, whereas skittles grew steadily in popularity from just 1% for kids in the 1950s to a striking 12% for the under 25s.

National Trust venues across Worcestershire will be celebrating the games and activities of the past throughout the school summer holidays.
