A spokesman said: "Nicholson’s love of gin goes way back – Founder William Nicholson started his career by running the family gin distillery in London and Nicholson's are still serving the best gins in many of those original gin palaces today – so where better to celebrate the ideal summer drink than in your Nicholson’s local this summer?"

There is even a Gin Fest 2016 passport – your ultimate guide to gin this summer – on the Nicholson’s app and start collecting to receive 1/3 off food or gin and tonic for £1.

Collect stamps every time you enjoy a drink, for a chance to win prizes including a VIP trip to the Plymouth Gin Distillery Gin aficionados will have an excuse to visit their local time and time again as a total of 31 high-end gins will be on offer broken down into categories to best match each tipple: Floral & Modern; Light & Citrusy Savoury & Dry; Juniper Heavy & Robust; and Something a Bit Different.

New to the gin cabinets; sample Wisconsin distilled Death’s Door – one of the leading craft gins in the USA served garnished with a sage leaf. Closer to home and hailing from Peckham, London – Little Bird is a lovely light gin championing grapefruit as its lead botanical; And for true gin connoisseurs – Monkey 47 is an unfiltered gin made in Germany’s Black Forest, created in individual batches using a complex set of 47 different botanicals.

The spokesman added: "Look out for gin master-classes, delicious gin infusion cocktails, loads of giveaways, and a Secret Gin Party to culminate, as Nicholson’s pubs celebrate their extensive gin range and 140 years of British gin heritage."
