This weekend Miami will be paradise for culture vultures and art lovers

If you like a bit of mustard with your beef and a bit of bonkers with your art then Miami in December will tick all your boxes.

Until December 4 Miami hosts the 10th Art Basel Miami Beach which is the most prestigious art show in the Americas.

The sun will be shining and there is art around every corner and plenty to gawp at one the street when visiting galleries.

Perhaps you will bump into a naked supervillan or find yourself skirting around a flashing disco pavement anything can happen when artists are let loose on a city.

More than 260 leading galleries from North America, Europe, Latin America, Asia and Africa will take part, showcasing works by more than 2,000 artists of the 20th and 21st centuries.

There are art instalations all over the place, from hanging on hotel facades and springing up from pavements to more conventional pieces in the city's many art galleries.

To mark its 10th anniversary, Art Basel Miami Beach will inaugurate a new collaboration with the Bass Museum of Art on the Art Public sector, which will transform Collins Park with unique artworks and performances by renowned artists and emerging talents.

For the first time, Art Video will be presented on the large-scale outdoor projection wall of the New World Center, designed by Frank Gehry.

The free pubic viewings will be part of a number of special events and performances taking place across Miami Beach for the duration of the show to celebrate the 10th anniversary.

Over the past ten years, Art Basel Miami Beach rapidly developed from a vibrant newcomer on the global art scene to the leading international art show in the Americas.

The decade has also marked a time of great transformations in the cultural scene of Miami.
