BOXER Jason Welborn has been crowned Halesowen News Sports Personality of 2012.
The welterweight saw off the challenge of Paralympic star Helen Scott to finish top of our online poll with 42 per cent of the vote.
Welborn enjoyed a fine year, twice defending his Midland Area crown and lining up a shot at Frankie Gavin’s British title.
Olympic bronze medallist Kristian Thomas was third, with wheelchair tennis star and Paralympic bronze medallist Jordanne Whiley fourth.
