KINGSWINFORD race ace Michael Rutter’s pre-season preparations have been thrown into chaos after he broke his leg.

The 40-year-old, who will be riding for the Honda Legends team in the Endurance World Championship, broke his tibia during testing at the Mireval track in France.

Rutter said: “It didn't feel too bad at first.

“I was walking around but we thought it was best to get an X-ray done just to be sure. That revealed a crack at the base of my tibia near the ankle joint.

“Hopefully it won’t take too long to heal and I'll be back on the bike soon.

Rutter has a busy year coming up. As well as riding for the Legends in the EWC, he will compete for the Bathams Honda team in the British Superbike Championship.
