JASON Welborn has vowed to silence Terry Carruthers when the duo meet for the Midland Area Light Middleweight title, and British Eliminator next week.

Carruthers hit out at his Midlands rival yesterday, claiming Welborn’s time had passed and vowed to dish out a nightmare before Christmas at the Holiday Inn, Birmingham, next Thursday (19th December).

Welborn however has other ideas and is relishing the opportunity to do his talking inside the ropes.

“I’ve watched him fight and I’ve known lads who’ve fought him. He’s a local lad, I know about him and he knows about me. He had a lot to say when we went head to head last week. I’ll just leave him to it. All the talk will stop when we’re in that ring. That’s where I prefer to conduct my business.

“All I will say though is he’s said he’s fought this kid, that kid. He’s not really done anything though has he? He’s been a bit of a journeyman really, taking fights for money at short notice. He seems to be training more for fights these days, so good on him. I hope he’s trained hard for me. He’ll find out what I’m all about soon enough.

“He’s got a lot of miles on the clock and I’ll expose that next week. I can’t wait.
