IT was all change on top of the Stourbridge and District Snooker League this week with West Midlands Police returning to pole position after third-placed Norton Social toppled previous leaders Hotshots SC by a 4-1 margin.

In a high quality encounter at Norton, Steve Mason, Rob Pitt, Adam Ness and Ashley Aston breezed Norton into a 4-0 lead before Milan Krstanovic pulled a frame back for Hotshots.

The Police had to grind out a 4-1 win at Moor Pool & Snooker, where Gavin Sloan secured a12th win in 13.

Callum Downing completed an 80 break for Brandhall Labour as they recorded a 4-1 success over Pockets SC, and Bal Sembi also impressed with a score of 54.

Amblecote Institute’s Ashley Sidaway was also in excellent form with a 73 break, while Rob Clark made 48, helping their side to a 4-1 victory over Kingswinford RBL.

Netherton Sports and Social were the other top flight winners this week, Steve Howell, Paul Bowen and Andy Barnett making sure they beat Moor Pool and Snooker’s B team 3-2.

Stourbridge Institute B remain top of Division One following a well contested 3-2 win over Kingswinford Cons A, Jon Bate, Mark Hatton and Dean Banks doing the damage.

The highlight of Moor Pool & Snooker C’s win over Amblecote RBL was Theo Brennan’s 52 break – the highest at this level so far this term.
