HOTSHOTS have taken a decisive step towards winning their first ever Stourbridge Snooker League title after dishing out a 4-1 beating to closest rivals West Midlands Police.

Neil Beckley inflicted Gavin Sloan with his second defeat while Dave Green’s 31 break accounted for Neil Marshall.

Rob Howen and Jamie Brown also won for Langley-based Hotshots who now head the Police by three points with five games to play.

Norton Social A staged a recovery to beat Pockets SC, who had led through John Betton and Andy Smith.

But Ashley Aston produced a 61 break while Adam Ness with 32 and then Neil Rollinson, who made 48 in the deciding frame, turned matters around for Norton who now trail Hotshots by five points.

Brandhall Labour blitzed Moor Pool and Snooker B 5-0, the highlight being Callum Downing’s 62 break to register his 12th win in 14 frames.

Amblecote Institute beat Pockets B 4-1 where Dan Petch made it 10 out of 10 Dave Reece and son Gregg were prominent in Kingswinford RBL’s 3-2 win over Netherton Sports, while Dean Banks made 46 for Division One leaders Stourbridge Institute.
