HALESOWEN Swimming Club faced a tough time in the latest round of the Nuneaton Junior League on Saturday, May 10.

They finished fourth with 149 points behind winners Boldmere A with 295, Stratford Sharks with 215 and Redditch with 190.

They did come ahead of Blythe Barracudas with 133 and Stafford Apex with 129.

Hales swimmers had another home draw for the second round but faced an uphill battle from the word go with Boldmere rampant in nearly every event. At the halfway mark the team had settled into fourth spot and held on to that place at the end of the evening.

As ever, wins were very had to come by with Lily Merrell in the breaststroke and Jacob Bailey and Euan Vaughan-Hawkins in the backstroke grabbing first places. The age nine boys team, including Noah Hanke, Adam Ryan and Jamie Worton, also showed their potential by winning the medley relay. The team now look to confirm their first division status in the final round in June.
