STUART Scriven has stepped down from his role as joint-manager of Tividale.

The club has accepted his resignation after he cited growing work commitments and a young family for his decision.

A statement from the club read: "Stuart has decided to retire on a high and with the club in good hands. Scriv is a Tivi FC man through and through, and all of us here at Tividale would like to thank him for the huge contributions he has made both on and off the pitch in his six years."

Scriven led The Beeches outfit to a historic season last term by securing promotion when winning the Midland Alliance and bagging further glory in the JW Hunt Cup.

After being assistant manager to Dean Whitehouse, he took on the role of caretaker manager when Whitehouse sadly left in the 2012-13 season because of family illness.

After leading the club to a creditable eighth position in the Midland Alliance in that campaign, Scriven was rewarded with the position of first team manager.

His first move was to appoint Ian Long as joint manager. Together with first-team coach Richard Colwell and goalkeeping coach Chris Walwyn, the Scriven-Long duo led Tividale to its most successful season.

Ian Long has accepted the offer to continue in his role as first team manager with Richard Colwell and Chris Walwyn remaining in their respective coaching positions as the club looks forward to its first ever season at step four football.
