STOURBRIDGE captain Sean Geddes has left the club to join Worcester City.

The midfield playmaker, 22, leaves for a nominal fee after three seasons at the War Memorial Ground.

Geddes, a former Manchester United trainee who played in the same youth team as Danny Welbeck, joined Stourbridge after three years at Walsall.

He has been at the heart of the Glassboys' midfield and boasted an impressive goal return of 17, 18 and 28 respectively in the last three seasons.

The management team at Worcester were apparently alerted to his possible availability yesterday and a deal was very quickly concluded by City manager Carl Heeley and Stourbridge's Gary Hackett.

Heeley said: "I spoke with Gary (Hackett) yesterday about Sean and I was informed that he was available for transfer and we agreed a very nominal fee for his services which we are delighted with.

"Sean has a super goal return and has a fiery side to his character which will compliment the rest of the city squad. We have been actively looking to add goals to the team and this capture should help this”
