CHAIRMAN Brian Blakemore wants Lye to improve their consistency.

Town have yet to claim back-to-back victories after eight games of their season in the Premier Division of the Midland Football League.

They claimed three points on Saturday against Shepshed Dynamo but then lost 5-0 away to Brocton on Tuesday night.

Blakemore said: "Consistency is something that we could improve even though it has been a good start to the season for us."

Against Shepshed last Saturday, Lye produced a brilliant last half hour to come back from a 4-0 deficit to claim a 5-4 win in their first home game of the campaign.

Dynamo's Adam Vasey hit a hat-trick and Scott Staniland claimed another to put the visitors well in control.

However, Lye hit back in devastating fashion thanks to late goals from Richard Anslow, Scott Gennard, Damian Whitcombe and a brace from substitute Tom Overfield.

They couldn't back that up when travelling to Brocton and came away with a 5-0 loss.

"The players are still learning at this higher level," added Blakemore. "We have shown some good character and will hopefully be able to get consistent results as the season goes on.

"It has been a mixed start but when we settle down we should start putting some wins together."

Lye will now welcome Coventry Sphinx to Stourbridge Road before travelling to face Walsall Wood away on Tuesday night.
