GARY Hackett is hoping Stourbridge's injury crisis won't halt their FA Cup dream this weekend.

The Glassboys are sweating on the availability of a host of key players ahead of their third qualifying round clash away at Shildon on Saturday.

Hackett said: "I have never experienced so many injuries in such a short amount of time during my time in management.

"I have had to constantly change the team and formation because of the players we have had missing.

"It is totally unprecedented and is a testing time."

The Amblecote outfit have defenders Ramsey-Dickson, Leon Broadhurst and Chris Knight all on the treatment table as well as forward Luke Benbow.

"We all know the magic of the FA Cup," added Hackett. "We have had some brilliant times in the competition in the past and it would be great to continue that.

"We know it will be a tough game against Shildon but we are looking forward to the challenge."

Stour drew last Saturday's home league contest against Ashton United after coming from behind.

The visitors took a 12th minute lead when a high ball into the Stourbridge penalty area was headed on to the unmarked Philip Marsh, who had time and space to lob the ball over Dean Coleman.

However, the Glassboys rescued a share of the spoils after Reece Hales' moment of magic with 14 minutes left on the clock. He shook off the attentions of a Ashton defender before firing a volley over Phillips and into the roof of the net from 20 yards.

"We weren't at our best so it was pleasing to take a point from the game," added Hackett. "Once we come through this current injury crisis I think we will be very strong."

Meanwhile, Stour have boosted their squad with the arrival winger Jean-Michel Gueyes from Solihull Moors and former forward Tom Berwick.
