ANDY Wyton wants to bring in two new wingers to boost Gornal Athletic's push for success this season.

The Garden Walk gaffer is looking to add two new wide men to his squad so he can continue to forge ahead with the same system that has proved so successful during the first half of the campaign.

The departure of Scott Devlin and the absence of Ryan Mills has left a gap for new wingers to make their mark.

"We like to get the ball out wide and play with pace down the flanks," said Wyton. "I've got a few irons in the fire with a view to bringing in two new wingers. If we can do that then it will mean we can continue to play the same system. If not then we may have to change the way we play, which isn't ideal."

Athletic, who sit in third in the league, returned to winning ways with a 5-1 home victory against Wednesfield last Tuesday.

A double from substitute Thomas Piggott and strikes from Geoff Hill, Jason Wood and Liam Hickman sealed the win.

However, they then crashed out of the FA Vase with a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Thurnby Nirvana last Saturday.

Gornal were due to take on Bridgnorth in the league cup tonight before welcoming Smethwick Rangers at home this Saturday.
