THE signs are all there to suggest Tividale's poor form could soon be over, says manager Ian Long.

Tivi halted their recent losing streak by claiming an away point against Market Drayton last Saturday.

The 2-2 draw came on the back of four straight league defeats and Long was pleased with the level of performance shown by his players, despite them giving up a two goal advantage in the contest.

"It was a massive improvement from us," said Long. "The players were much more competitive and created a lot more chances.

"It was frustrating not to take all three points after having a 2-0 lead but it is a good away point and stops our losing run.

"The players need to build on that and try and get back to the level we showed at the start of the season. There are a lot more positives to take moving forwards."

Tividale’s first good opportunity of the game came when a Deqwon Ebanks effort was well saved by Drayton keeper Daniel Read.

Ian Long's men went close again on 30 minutes when an Ebanks header from a Zac Foster cross came back off the cross bar.

The visitors from the Black Country opened the scoring on 37 minutes when Karl Edwards pounced on a Danny Ashton cross to fire in at the near post.

Tividale doubled their lead on the hour when Ebanks got his reward for his hard work up front. He latched onto a poor Drayton clearance before beating Read.

However, Tivi's advantage only lasted six minutes as Jordan Johnson pounced on a mistake to beat Price in the Tivi goal.

The leveller came when once more Tividale failed to clear the danger after a corner. A Whieldon cross was headed home by James Askey.

Tivi were set to welcome Sutton Coldfield to The Beeches in the Walsall Senior Cup tonight before taking on Goole at home this Saturday.

Last season's club captain Mitch Huckfield will now be available more often after a period of working away.
