TALENTED teenager Luke Harris has joined Cradley after making guest appearances for the club in their stunning 2014 campaign.

Harris, who turned 16 last month, will start the season on a 3.17 average and joins Nathan Greaves and Mike Neale in the revamped Heathens side.

And he's revealed it was a combination of the management and supporters which helped make his decision to join the Perry Barr club.

"I couldn't believe the amount of support for Cradley when I raced for them last season and I'm absolutely delighted to be riding for such a prestigious club with an amazing tradition," he said.

"The management impressed me with their professionalism but it was really the fan base which made me want to ride for the club. I could have looked for a club closer to home in the south, but having ridden for Cradley my mind was made up.

"I'd also like to say what an amazing experience it was to ride for them last season, the guys in the team at the time and the management were there with words of encouragement and help and that made a big impression on me.

"It's still early days in my speedway career but I believe riding for a club like Cradley is the perfect step for me to enhance and develop my career. I can't wait to get started with the rest of the boys.

"I'm not sure what the rest of their team plans are but I'm sure they will be putting together a good team as they always do and I'm looking forward to having Birmingham as my home track."
